Modern Lakeside Landscape Design

The homeowners wanted a modern landscape design that complemented their lakeside home while creating a more organized, functional, and romantic outdoor living space. Their existing cottage garden had become overgrown, so we transformed it into a contemporary landscape with clean lines, structured plantings, and inviting garden spaces that can be enjoyed throughout the year.

Curved planting beds were reimagined with crisp lines, 90-degree angles, and geometric planting grids to reinforce the home's modernist architecture. Steel edging creates clean borders along the lawn, gravel pathways, and raised vegetable beds, while ornamental grasses soften the structured design and help unify the home with the surrounding landscape. Iron pedestals left by the original homeowners were thoughtfully repurposed into large upright planters, creating distinctive focal points. The result is a timeless landscape that feels both refined and welcoming—a modern garden that complements the character of this Lake Oswego home.
